You Deserve More.
You deserve more than just a deal. You deserve to build the practice you want, with a collaborative culture and support that truly partners with you.
Why I Joined Baird - John Taft, Vice Chair
After more than 35 years in financial services, including serving as CEO of RBC Wealth Management, I wasn’t looking to return to a full‑time executive role. Then I met Baird.
Baird is rare in today’s industry. It is employee‑owned, well‑capitalized, and built for the long term. The firm combines strong values, ethical business practices, and a deeply client‑focused culture with the scale to invest and compete, without sacrificing advisor autonomy.
Our industry is increasingly split between large, publicly owned institutions and independent firms. Public firms tend to centralize advice, institutionalize client relationships, and prioritize corporate objectives. Advisors are often asked to fit clients into models designed far from the relationship.
Baird believes something fundamentally different: client relationships belong to advisors. Advice should be decentralized. Advisors should have the freedom to determine how best to serve their clients, supported, not directed, by the firm.
Having worked in both models, and experienced both as a client, I believe the independent, employee‑owned approach leads to better client outcomes and a stronger culture. Wealth management is a people business. When advisors are trusted, engaged, and aligned with their firm, clients benefit immediately.
That’s why I chose Baird and why so many experienced advisors are doing the same.

Employee Ownership.
Employee ownership is more than a stock plan — it shapes how people think, collaborate, and make decisions. When nearly every associate has the opportunity to share in the firm’s success, it reinforces a long-term mindset and a shared responsibility to do what’s right. For advisors, that means the freedom to build your practice without pressure to fit a one-size-fits-all model — supported by a structure that values trust, integrity, and lasting relationships.
Leaders Who Advocate For What You’re Building.
The leadership team at Baird Seattle is intentionally supportive, not directive. Leaders are accessible and engaged when guidance is helpful, but they trust advisors to run their businesses day to day. As co-owners, they operate like business partners — taking time to understand what you’re building and helping you move forward with clarity, grounded in what’s right for the branch, your practice, and the clients you serve.
A Culture You Can Feel.
Culture at Baird Seattle is defined by energy, connection, and a genuine sense of belonging. It’s a place where meaningful work is also meant to be fulfilling — where people support one another, take pride in their work, and build lasting relationships. Strengthened by a diverse mix of advisors and teams, the culture is rooted in a shared motivation to do right by clients and one another, in the everyday moments that make a branch feel like a true community.
Momentum That Matches Your Ambition.
Growth is intentional and continuous. Advisors are encouraged to keep learning — refining their craft, strengthening business-building skills, and finding better ways to serve clients over time. As tools and technology evolve, the branch takes a measured approach: adopting what makes sense while staying focused on the human, foundational parts of advice and relationship-building that matter most to a lasting practice.
The Strength of a Team Behind You
Expertise at Baird Seattle is built around the realities of clients’ lives, not just their investments. The branch brings together advisors with diverse backgrounds and perspectives and serves as a hub for specialists across planning areas to support complex situations and major life transitions. That depth helps advisors deliver guidance that is both technically sound and deeply personal, while staying focused on what clients need most
